Arkell Road Constuction Closure
Notice from the City of Guelph about Arkell Road closures for approximately three weeks (starting May 30th) at Arkell/Malvern for road construction and pipeline installation:
About the Project
The City is working with Greenfield Contracting to:
• Remove asphalt
• Install water and sewer pipes
• Repave the road once pipes have been installed and tested.
Arkell Road closure starts May 30
The Arkell Road and Malvern Crescent intersection will be closed on or about May 30 for approximately three weeks, weather permitting. Local traffic access will be maintained on Arkell Road, west of Malvern Crescent to Gordon Street, and east of Malvern Crescent to Victoria Road South. The designated detour route is via Victoria Road South, Clair Road East and Gordon Street.
Every effort will be made to maintain access to driveways in the construction area during working hours (7 a.m.–7 p.m.) Construction activities may temporarily impact access to private property and delays should be expected. Notification will be given, and alternate parking arranged when this is to occur.
Guelph Transit route 5 will be temporarily detoured during construction. Visit guelphtransit.ca for information about stop changes and route detours.
There will be no interruption to any City services during construction. Waste collection will not be affected. Please continue to place your green, blue and grey carts at the curb, as per your regular schedule.
The City appreciates your patience, understanding and co-operation during this important construction project. Project details and any updates will be posted on guelph.ca/construction.
